Oh, man, that used to be my problem, so badly that you don't know! Back when I was writing fic for anime and RPGs, I used to lose track of what I was supposed to be doing... and sometimes I never regained the thread! Even my one-shot (Nine in the Afternoon) went places I didn't expect. Even though I managed to keep it relatively tight and "short" for me. (It's sad that a 21,000 word story is short by my personal standards.) Good luck with your story!! *waves pom-poms*
