Eh. It was watchable. Parts were cute (like the Ron/Hermione drama) and there were some suspenseful moments and the movie was overall entertaining and gorgeous, but...
Well, first of all, whatever rules there are for magic use, they seem kind of arbitrary and it undermines the story a lot for me. What can they do and what can't they? One minute they teleport all over the place with a nifty little spell, the next they're debating how to get away from a mob.
How can Harry dive into a frozen lake and be perfectly alright afterwards? Are wizards exempt from hypothermia? And what a coincidence that Ron managed to show up just then, right? Also, Harry Potter once again proves that his great power is his awesome friends. Can this guy do ANYTHING himself?
And what was with the kidnapping scene with Helena Bonham Carter? Was there a point to it other than to have a sort-of climax to the movie and have the obligatory tragic sacrifice of Gollum?
I didn't DISLIKE it, honestly, because I went in with low expectations and it was pretty. But it seems kind of... hollow. Are the books the same?

Not sure how you feel about spoilers, but one of the main points of that scene is that Harry ends up with Draco's wand. *shrugs* I'm curious how that will play out in the movies; I doubt people who only watch the movies understand the significance now, and I seriously doubt they'll even remember the fact come next July.
I prefer the books myself, even though they are somewhat flawed; I only see the movies because I'm willing to take my niece to the midnight showings - I definitely get awesome aunt points for that!
