Tomorrow we get a guest who's going to stay here a week. In other words, I need to clean ALL THE THINGS. In other words, oversleeping UNTIL 4PM was not a good move.
Ooooh, you know that I feel your pain. ^.^ Hope you didn't have to do as much heavy lifting and sweating as I did! ^o^ And I hope the visit is painless and maybe pleasant?
Almost unrelated: you've read Hyperbole and a Half too? Yay! *giggles*
Hope that cleaning all the things went well!! (Hm, it doesn't look quite right when it's not in all caps, does it? *is too lazy to change it* ^_^)
Our guest's plane had something wrong with it, so he'll be coming today instead! Yay! A day's reprieve! Which we spent going out for Thai food and buying books. Ahhh.<3
Not much heavy lifting! Just vacuuming (though the vacuum's kinda heavy...*fishes*). Things are almost done, with the only casualty being a pair of tights the vacuum tore to shreds. I am currently waiting for the vacuum to cool down from the trauma and the smoke to clear.
I actually hadn't read Hyperbole and a Half and didn't know that's where it came from! Thank you for informing me! - *bookmarks* - I'd just encountered the phrase here and there.
Our guest should be fine! I think. I mean, he can be kinda talkative and ridiculously outgoing (he once led his fellow passengers on a bus in singing showtunes...), but he's nice!
Sounds like a good use of your day's reprieve. ^_^
I think I may have broken the belt on my brand new vacuum, or something, 'cause it barely sucks anymore. Gotta make the time to grab the manual and take it apart....
Hyperbole and a Half is really funny. She hardly ever updates because she's working on a book, but it's amusing to go back through her archives. I think my absolutely favorite post is the one about the goose - you'll see what I mean when/if you come across it! ^o^
And he's not staying for two and a half months, yeah? *cough*
Hope you have a great visit and a good weekend!!! <3
Sorry about the vacuum! I've dealt with enough malfunctioning vacuums to know what a hassle it is. Hope you get it straightened out!
I've only read "The god of cake", the piece about her dogs' reaction to moving and the "clean ALL the things" one so far, but they were all great. I need to sit down one day when I have more time and go through her entire blog. A book, huh? I'm looking forward to that.
No, he's only staying until Wednesday. He keeps breaking into loud laughter after every sentence, though. It's kind of jarring. But he's nice. Really.

Thank you, and likewise!
