So I really should be in bed, but I'm wound up.
A co-worker of mine vented to me today that he hates his job and wants to quit. Blames management for favoritism when it comes to handing out hours. Not a surprise, since he was refused taking over a shift for another co-worker last week - the manager apparently saying that "there's a reason he's not getting more hours".
While favoritism wouldn't surprise me one bit, I'm more inclined to believe that this is because HE'S A LAZY BUM. He would rather hang around chatting than working and he moves at a snail's pace. I get a decent, steady amount of hours. I also bust my bum every shift trying to get everything done on time. As much as I would have liked to tell him to eat food stamps and die (because he's an annoying s.o.b), I didn't. Confrontation. Ew.
Tonight, another co-worker yelled at Brandy, the assistant manager, for getting on his case because he hadn't gotten his section done on time. WTF do these people think they get paid for?

I dunno, though. I often feel like the job I do is absolutely futile and that I just haven't really caught on yet. That I'm just trying to be an awesome cog in a sucky machinery that doesn't give a crap. I might be on to something.

But on the bright side -  Dad sent me a camera for my birthday! I can fill this journal with movies and pictures of my cats! <3333
Oh, and Mom sent me chocolate and a dress! Swedish chocolate!<33333333333333333333333333
Oh oh oh! And my grandparents (paternal) sent me $50! I talked to Grandma on the phone and she was, as usual, keen on pointing out how old she and Grandpa are and how little they have left of life. "We have our future behind us, little Anna."  It doesn't get much more Swedish than that. :(

We're waiting for a check. When it comes in, there will be shopping sprees.

I really need to go to bed now.
